Senior Solar and BESS Technician

ROLE PURPOSE

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated PV and BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) Senior Technician to join our
team. The technician will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting photovoltaic (solar) systems and battery
energy storage solutions for residential and commercial applications. The ideal candidate will have technical expertise
in solar energy systems, battery storage technology, electrical wiring, and safety regulations to ensure high-quality
installations and optimal system performance. Experience with medium voltage (MV) systems is advantageous.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspect and maintain photovoltaic (PV) systems and battery energy storage systems (BESS), including solar panels, inverters, batteries, and wiring.
• Conduct site assessments to determine solar energy potential, storage capacity needs, and system requirements.
• Troubleshoot and repair PV and BESS components, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
• Follow electrical codes, safety standards, and manufacturer guidelines during installation and maintenance.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections to prevent system failures.
• Work with medium voltage (MV) systems, including transformers and switchgear, if applicable.
• Document installation and service activities, including reports, photos, and technical details.
• Work closely with the field engineer to maintain high-quality solutions.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, permits, and industry standards.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory for PV and BESS installations

DESIRED SKILLS

• Knowledge of photovoltaic technology, battery energy storage, electrical wiring, and solar energy principles.
• Familiarity with tools, testing equipment, and safety procedures related to PV and BESS systems.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, and electrical diagrams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work at heights, on rooftops, and in outdoor conditions

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in PV system installation, battery storage systems, or electrical work.
• Experience with medium voltage (MV) systems is advantageous.
• Experience with network and instrumentation is advantageous.
• Technical certification or associate degree in electrical, renewable energy, or a related field (preferred).
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites.
• Be able to work public holidays and weekends, as required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials (up to 30 kgs).
• Comfortable working in various weather conditions.
• Ability to climb ladders and work on rooftops safely.
