BLPM Vacancy – Electrical Engineer

• Design of grid-connected solar photovoltaic plants.
• Yield & shading analysis.
• Solar plant optimization.
• Solar plant layout.
• Estimate and bid compilation: design approach, costing and a technical description.
• Commercial bid compilation, T&C’s, inclusions and exclusions.
• O&M activities and data processing, site assessments and product research into the latest technology.
  • Liaise with technical team to assess project opportunities and develop engineering aspects, including solar yield analyses and preliminary project designs.
  • Co-ordinate site studies and local engineering aspects of project development.
  • Develop a grid connection solution for projects.
  • Establish provisional costings for engineering aspects of projects.
  • Liaise with EPC’s to ensure quality assurance and compliance with local standards.
  • Project schedules such a plan of works and Gannt charts.
  • Develop a supplier database and establish supplier relationships.
  • Develop standard enquiry/tender documentation.
  • Liaise with EPC to develop detailed project costings.
  • Confirm detailed Scope of Work / Bill of Quantities to be put out on enquiry.
  • Co-ordinate actual enquiry events.

Skills

• Ability to work independently, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of the South African SSEG environment and technical regulations.
• Knowledge of procurement processes.

Education

• Completed BEng / BSc / BTech in Electrical Engineering.

Experience

• A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience, preferably working on solar projects.
• BESS knowledge will be an advantage.
