Bright Light Solar VCC Ltd successfully completes maiden capital raise

Bright Light Solar VCC Ltd (“BLS”) is pleased to announce the successful outcome of its maiden capital raise. BLS was successful in raising R11.5m via its first public offering.

BLS has already secured a significant pipeline of clients and has signed several Electricity Supply Agreements with Body Corporate and commercial clients.

BLS’s investment mandate is to invest in companies focused on long term solar energy projects and offers a unique investment opportunity within the renewable energy space. BLS plans to take advantage of the growing demand for solar energy requirements from large corporates and residential developments in South Africa.

Funds raised will be invested in a portfolio of solar energy projects, which demonstrate predictable inflation linked cash flows supported by long term Electricity Supply Agreements. Due to our strong internal capabilities coupled with various strategic partnerships, BLS is able to offer excellent returns to its investors. With predictable annuity income over 25 years, coupled with the SARS S12J allowance, BLS is confident of its success.
