The landscape of renewable energy that we operate in is expanding exponentially, and so is Bright Light. This year we’ve made some changes to our company structure and business models. We aim to ensure our clients, partners and investors can gain the most benefit from the continuous growth of the industry.
We also upgraded our brand to reflect the bright and exciting future for both our company and the efficient energy sector. Our new brand effectively communicates our team, ethos, solutions, achievements and future plans. With this refresh, we can better communicate, collaborate and empower our clients, and we can all flourish as a result.
Why the Refresh?
Refreshing a brand is not as simple as whipping up a new logo, throwing it onto your website, and sticking it on some promotional products. It requires preparation, planning, and a pinch of existentialism. We’ve had to ask ourselves some serious questions. Who are we, and what do we want to say to the world? What is our purpose, and how do we show it?
The decision to refresh our brand came down to a simple truth: the industry and market have evolved and expanded. Electricity in South Africa is not only becoming more expensive each year, but also increasingly unreliable. The number of residential and commercial consumers turning to solar and other alternative energy solutions to reduce costs and cut emissions is steadily climbing, inevitably leading to the rapid growth of the solar and renewable energy industry.
Innovation is one of our cornerstone values. Therefore, we have adapted to stay ahead of the curve, to offer our clients, partners and investors the most relevant impactful solutions possible.
Also, our investor model has changed since the sunset clause of Section 12J of the Income Tax Act came into effect on 30 June 2021. We have also found new, inventive ways to offer exceptional value to new investors coming on board. However, those investors who invested in Bright Light Solar VCC Ltd before 30 June 2021 still benefit from tax incentives offered through s12J of the Income Tax Act.
Our identity as a company has shifted because of the trust our clients have shown us. We’re no longer just service providers, but trusted advisors. It’s the difference between reaction and strategy, between complacency and innovation. We wanted our new look to reflect our next phase — bright, bold, agile, and ready for the future.
So, what is new?
Along with our refreshed brand identity, we have revamped our corporate website too. The new site delivers rich content in a modern, clean, and organised way, to provide visitors with easy access to our company information, highlighting our projects and solutions.

We didn’t want to lose our heritage during this exciting rebranding process, so we focused on capturing the essence of what Bright Light has always been – a company that puts the power back in the hands of our clients.
